(Sorry for the inconvenience)

XBMC[1] is a GPL licensed software media player and entertainment hub for digital media. XBMC can play most[2] popular audio and video formats. It can play CDs and DVDs from a disk or image file and even files inside ZIP and RAR archives. It can scan all of your media and automatically create a personalized library with album covers, descriptions, and fan art.

WARNING Before installing XBMC, make sure that your system meets the minimum hardware requirements[3]. The XBMC team recommends using an NVIDIA GeForce 6150 or later.

During the installation of PC-BSD® the installer provided an option to install XBMC. If you wish to install XBMC afterwards, use Control PanelPackage ManagerMisc. Once XBMC is installed, an entry should be added to the "Multimedia" section of the application menu of your desktop. You can also start XBMC by typing xbmc from a command prompt.

If you have never used XBMC before, take some time to skim through the XBMC Quick Start Guide[4] and the XBMC Online Manual[5].
