An input method is a program that allows users to enter characters and symbols not found on their input devices. For instance, an input method can allow a user to input Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Indic characters using a Latin keyboard.
PC-BSD installs the IBus framework to achieve this task. Applications are also available for SCIM, another input method framework that supports over 30 languages including Chinese, Korean, Japanese and many European languages.
