NOTE: As of PC-BSD 9.0-RELEASE, GNOME3 is not yet an official FreeBSD port. Once it is available via the ports tree, it will be added to PC-BSD which means it may be selected as a desktop in the PC-BSD installer or system [metapackage] manager. However, it is possible to get it running according to this forum thread[1].
