NOTE: As of PC-BSD 9.0-RELEASE, GNOME3 is not yet an official FreeBSD port. Once it is available via the ports tree, it may be added as a desktop component in the PC-BSD installer or system [metapackage] manager. However, it is possible to get it running according to forum thread
