Enlightenment is a lean, fast, modular and very extensible window manager. It provides a desktop for launching applications, managing windows and doing other system tasks like suspending, reboots, and managing files.

The first time you run Enlightenment, you will be prompted to select your Language, then a profile. If you click a profile name with your mouse, it will give a brief description. Profiles are available for tablets, netbooks, and desktops. You will then be prompted to select a type of application menu and which applications will appear in that menu. Application, Gnome, or Settings (how to do all 3?)

scaleable, application

Figure 5.6a shows a screenshot of Enlightenment running on PC-BSD 9.0. In this example, the user has selected a scalable profile and the Applications style menu.
