Translations:Partitioning the Hard Drive/9.2/2/en

PC-BSD® does not include its own built-in partition manager. The installer assumes that the drive is already prepared for an installation. If you are not planning to install PC-BSD® onto the entire hard drive, you will need to use a third-party application in order to prepare a primary partition to use as the destination for your PC-BSD® install.

Word-danger/2 Before creating or editing your hard drive's partitions, make sure that you first back up your valuable data to an external media such as a removable USB drive, then remove the drive during this operation. Data stored on the hard drives attached to the computer have the chance for damage or loss. Extreme care must be taken but this will not eliminate the unforeseen from happening. It is always best to back up first or your valuable data will be at risk.
